Pretty Poppies

The rain is coming again, but before it arrives, I ran up to the garden take some photos of the just-opened poppies..

  1. Those are beautiful! I haven't seen that type of poppy before, such an interesting raggedy edge!

  3. BEAUTIFUL! I love poppies. Do yours self sow through the garden?
I have a few 'black' papaver paeoniflorum growing for this spring and I'm really looking forward to their flowering!

  4. Thanks for the comments everyone.. They originally came from Renee's Garden about 4 or 5 years ago. Now, they self-seed (we help a bit by shaking the dried seed pods) and we leave them when they pop up in the spring.

Bren - I definitely have some seed for you! I'll save you a few pods when they're ready.. :)
